Peel Public Health is strongly recommending the closure of non-essential businesses and event venues after evidence of community transmission of novel coronavirus has surfaced.These businesses are being asked to shut down until April 5 to help reduce the pandemic spread.Dr. Lawrence Loh, the Region of Peel interim medical officer of health, said in a release issued on Friday, March 20 that evidence of community transmission emerged over the past day. Restaurants, bars and food establishments can remain open, as long as they dont allow customers to dine in. At this critical moment, however, we must take stricter measures if we are going to succeed at limiting the impacts of this disease on our community.
