On Wednesday the Senate passed a two-week, stopgap funding bill designed to avert a government shutdown by a 91-9 vote, one day after the House approved the measure 335-91 with support from most House Republicans and a majority of Democrats. This will give Congress two more weeks, until March 18, in which to fund the government until the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30.The measure includes $4 billion in spending cuts, far short of the $61 billion passed in a House bill two weeks ago that was renounced by both Senate Democrats and the president. The bill, which will now head to President Obama desk, must be signed by Friday to prevent a government shutdown. White House spokesman Jay Carney said Tuesday that the administration goal is to look beyond the continuing resolution to the longer-term solution, expected to face a more stanley cup difficult road in Congress. BOSTON AP 鈥?A young man who says Kevin Spacey groped him in a Nantucket bar in 2016 has dropped his civil lawsuit against the Oscar-winning actor, his lawyer said Friday.Spacey still faces a criminal charge. He pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery in January.His accuser lawyer, Mitchell Garabedian, announced in an email that the suit filed June 26 in Nantucket Superior Court has been voluntarily dismissed. No reason was provided either by Garabedian or yeezy in the court filing.
